Sequenced Treatment Enhancement Program (STEP-BD)

Sequenced Treatment Enhancement Program for Bi-Polar Disorder, or STEP-BD, is the largest federally-funded treatment study ever conducted for bipolar disorder. The initial findings of the STEP-BD support what NMHA has advocated for many years: treatments must be tailored to meet each individual's needs and that there is no one way to treat all individuals with a mental illness.

The first phase of STEP-BD was released on February 1, 2006.
